  1. It's no secret, that I wasn't a big comic book geek growing up. I'd love to hear from those that are/were about what you guys took from the trailer? Good? Bad? Ugly? Indifferent? Does it look to be following any particular trade storyline?

  2. Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! I'll pull up my FB comment for reference

I just think that Fox has completely massacared the whole X-men story(ies). The fact that they have Havoc and Emma Frost(lets not even get... into the fact that her primary mutation at first is her telekinetic and mind reading powers. Her diamond form does not come around till the second mutation after the destruction of Genosha) at the beginning of Xavier's gathering of mutants just shows how they have no respect for comic storytelling on a whole.

I haven't been able to stomach any of the X movies( especially Wolverine). On a whole I just feel like Hollywood(with the exception of a handful of movies like Sin City, 300 & Kick-Ass) completely has thier head up thier asses when it comes to comic book adaptation

  3. 100% agreed with Briana. Sure, the trailer looked coolish, but everything else that has come out about the movie weighs me down. Emma Frost appears in Wolverine along with a Cyclops who is her age. If she's an adult in this, and a teen in that, and Prof X is young in this, and older in that...then that means that its impossible for Wolverine and First Class to be in continuity with eachother. And if that's the case, then why not start from scratch and cast the original X-Men (maybe plus Storm) as teenagers and go that route? Why must we have Havok (an awesome character, but an older, founding X-Man? C'mon), bug-lady Angel from Morrison's run, Nightcrawler's Dad from arguably one of the worst received X-Men runs in recent history, Mystique and...some other people. Seriously, Beast looks like the only thing they might be getting remotely correct(Actually, McAvoy and young Magneto look pretty good, although I don't know why they're laying in bed with eachother towards the end there...weird). I don't have very high expectations for this movie at all...on the plus side, it's going to be very hard for me to be disappointed. Hopefully one day soon Marvel gets the X-Rights back and can do some good.
