This year to celebrate the Halloween month I have decided to watch 31 Horror Movies that I have never seen before in 31 Days... 31 in 31. I love Horror Films, but instead of watching the standard classics and usual fan favorites (trust me... I will watch many of them TOO!) I am going to venture out into some uncharted territory with my selections. Wish me luck....
Day 6 - Holidays (2016)
Title: Holidays (2016)
Director: Anthology film featuring segments by Kevin Smith, Scott Stewart, Anthony Scott Burns
Starring: Ashley Greene, Harley Quinn Smith, Seth Green, Clare Grant, Megan Duffy
My Review:
Anthology horror movies hold a special place in my heart... from way back in the day gems like Tales from the Darkside & Creepshow to more modern incarnations like V/H/S and ABC's of Death. For the most part one of the coolest things is the inclusion of vastly different plotted segments that can take the viewer on quite the adventure. When I came across Holidays on Netflix I was excited... albeit prematurely. While some of the segments are pretty great (Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day) most of the others fell way short... and were really fucking weird. And not in a good "weird" horror kind of way.... just weird for no reason. Smith and Stewart, the two most established directors, shine with their entries. All and all not really the anthology for me.
My Rating: 2 out of 5 Stars
